About

John & Irene with Rain & Jaya, Chillin' at The Tango Tea Room

In September 4, 1998, Yin Yang Fandango first opened its doors in Corpus Christi, Texas as an eclectic “earthstore” offering unique and colorful home decor, clothing & accessories, jewelry, and gifts from all over the globe.  Irene Carranza Jaan, the founder, is also an aromatherapist and massage therapist available for sessions.  Through those early years we had so many good times hosting drum circles, festivals, artistic events, and workshops with so many awesome people contributing to the center.  After the neighboring coffeehouse closed down, John entered the picture.  In June 2004, he and Irene opened “The Tango Tea Room” restaurant which is directly connected to the retail shop.  The establishment grew and prospered into a downtown lunch favorite.

The intention of Yin Yang Fandango & The Tango Tea Room is to offer Corpus Christi a creative, tranquil, yet vibrant environment to nurture your need to chill out with good friends.  Relax and enjoy fine tea (over 50 choices) and all the other fine delectables that have been added to the mix–including homemade desserts (with many vegan options!). Eat from the healthy, whole, but always indulgent (and primarily vegetarian) menu and sip organic espresso beverages.  There is grilled chicken breast that can be added to any entree, and the sun-dried tomato & cilantro chicken salad is a local favorite.  Other than that, we hope you find the best vegetarian food in town.

Yin Yang Fandango and the Tango Tea Room are in a constant state of evolution. There are two indoor seating areas, the front dining area which is connected to Yin Yang Fandango, and the larger Moroccan Lounge in the back.  There is a small stage in the lounge for entertainment.  There are two main outdoor seating areas including a beautiful garden courtyard visible from the establishment and a small porch by the front door.

The newest addition to Tango Fandango is a Crepe Catering Service:   “Crepe Fandango” Crepes are currently not offered in the restaurant.  Our email is info@tangofandango.com , and welcome your inquiries and questions.
